The Cultural Foundation of Harrison County announced the recipients of the 2022 Community Arts Project Grant Awards at its annual meeting held virtually on Sunday, January 23, 2022. The Cultural Foundation provides funding for local arts groups through memberships and donations from the community.
Julia Todd, grants program chairman, has announced that The Cultural Foundation awarded $15,000 to support 17 cultural projects in Harrison County.
Grant recipients include: Bridgeport High School Theatre Department, Bridgeport High School Thespian Troupe, Clarksburg Farmers Market, Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library, Clarksburg History Museum, Harrison County Senior Center, Harrison County Schools Art Curriculum Department, Liberty High School Theatre Department, Notre Dame High School Theatre Department, Notre Dame High School Thespian Troupe, Robert C. Byrd High School Theatre Department, Shinnston Community Band, South Harrison High School, South Harrison Middle School, Stonewall Jackson Civil War Roundtable, The Studio for the Performing Arts, WV Heritage Crafts Co-Operative.
The mission of The Cultural Foundation of Harrison County is to foster an art-rich environment, and to encourage the development and appreciation of all art forms, while promoting the growth and expansion of artistic, cultural, and economic development.
Established in 1972 to receive bequests, grants, financial gifts, and other items of cultural and historic value, The Cultural Foundation serves as the conduit between the community and its arts organizations through various means.
